The Doggy Paddle is our new indoor swimming space in Keighley, created for dogs who would benefit from safe, private access to water without the pressure of a busy public environment.
Whether your dog is a confident swimmer, a cautious paddler, a water-loving puppy or a senior who enjoys gentle movement, sessions will be designed around the individual dog in front of us.
Private sessions for dogs who want to swim, paddle, play, build confidence or cool off.
This won't be a clinical hydrotherapy setting.
It will be a warm, friendly and carefully managed space where dogs can enjoy water at their own pace.
Some dogs may launch straight in. Others may begin with one paw on the ramp. Both are absolutely fine.
The aim is not to make every dog swim. The aim is to create a safe, positive experience in which each dog has a choice.
Yes. Every session is completely private.
When you book a swim at The Doggy Paddle, the pool is exclusively yours for the duration of your session. There will be no unfamiliar dogs sharing the water, allowing your dog to relax, explore and enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Whether your dog loves swimming, is trying water for the very first time, or simply prefers their own space, private sessions allow us to keep session calm, safe and tailored to your dog.
If you have more than one dog from the same household, they're very welcome to swim together. You're also welcome to invite friends or family to join you if you'd like to share the session (maximum of four dogs in total)
Not at all! In fact, many dogs visit us for their very first experience of water.
Every dog is different. Some will happily leap straight in, while others may spend their first session simply investigating the pool, dipping a paw or walking down the ramp. Both are perfectly normal.
At The Doggy Paddle, we'll always work at your dog's pace. There is no pressure to swim, and dogs will never be forced into the water. Our aim is to help every dog build confidence and enjoy the experience, whatever that looks like for them.
For dogs who are new to swimming, well-fitting buoyancy aids are available to help them feel safe, supported and confident while they find their feet (or paws!)
Sometimes, the biggest success isn't swimming across the pool. It's a nervous dog choosing to take one more step than they did last time.
Absolutely! In fact, they're some of our favourite visitors.
Many nervous dogs benefit from having the pool completely to themselves, without unfamiliar dogs, busy environments or pressure to perform.
Whether your dog is unsure of new place, lacking confidence around water, or simply likes to take life at a slower pace, we'll always work with them as an individual.
There is no expectation that your dog will swim during their first visit. They may choose to sniff around the pool, explore the room, paddle in the shallow area or simply watch from a distance. That's perfectly okay.
Our role is to help your dog feel safe enough to make their own choices. We believe confidence grows when dogs are given time, patience and the freedom to explore at their own pace.
Sometimes, a first visit isn't about swimming at all. It's simply about leaving with a dog who feels a little more confident than when they arrived.
Yes! The pool is heated to provide a comfortable swimming experience all year around.
Whether you're visiting on a chilly winter morning or during the warmer months, the water temperature is carefully maintained to help dogs feel relaxed and comfortable during their swim.
A warm pool is particularly beneficial for puppies, senior dogs and those enjoying low-impact exercise.
No - that's entirely your choice.
Some dogs feel more confident with their person in the water, while others are perfectly happy swimming indepently.
We'll discuss what will help your dog feel most comfortable, and you're welcome to stay poolside or join them in the wate if you prefer.
(Suitable swimwear and footwear may be required if entering the pool area)

We have a range of buoyancy aids for dogs of different shapes and sizes.
Whether your dog is new to swimming, building confidence or simply enjoys the extra support, we'll help choose a well-fitting buoyancy aid to keep them safe and comfortable in the water.
As your dog's confidence grows, we'll encourage them to progress at a pace they're happy with.
